The Champion's Creed

The goal of life is to never stop moving forward, but to continuously improve, to achieve excellence.  The Champion's Creed is a model divided into eight pillars designed for personal and team excellence.   Application of the following pillars will make you a Champion in life!

Passion

"Passion will move men beyond themselves, beyond their shortcomings, beyond their failures."

~ Joseph Campbell

Life is not worth living unless if you live it with passion and intensity.  Great competitors possess passion and practice inspired power in every facet of their life.  Passion is what fuels the other pillars of the Champion's Creed and promotes continuous growth and improvement.  Without passion a person will not sustain success.  Passion is a prerequisite for success and high achievement.

Work Ethic

"Some people dream of success while others wake up and work hard at it."

~ Winston Churchill

A hard work ethic is a necessity to high achievement.    Greatness that is achieved with little effort is seldom worth while.  Successful people will find pleasure in hard work because they know a competitor that has a will to win has the will to work.  We may not control the outcome, but we do control our effort.  If you devote hard work in preparation and competition then you will be a champion.  Work hard and rewards will follow.

Knowledge
 Gratitude

"The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge."

~ Daniel J. Boorstin

One important aspect of being successful is the ceaseless desire to learn and grow.  Possess the intelligence to understand your own ignorance.  It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.  Invest time in your knowledge and prepare for each moment to be a learning moment, whether that be of success or failure.  Learn from others who have experience, and learn from others who praise and criticize your efforts.  Take time to read as it will lead to knowledge.  Take time to think as it will lead to success.

Relationships

"A great relationship doesn't happen because of the love you had in the beginning, but how well you continue building love until the end."

A successful journey is not possible without the support and love from family and friends.  Devote time to the people who care for you and need your companionship.  Add value to people daily, without expecting anything in return.   Give strength to those who are in need.  For those who have done wrong to you offer forgiveness and sincerity.  For love is a special gift that when given can help fuel the desire to achieve success.

"Learn to be thankful for what you already have, while you pursue all that you want."

~ Jim Rohn

Do not forget to take time to laugh, to play, and enjoy the moment.  Give thanks to the blessings in your life and value each day.  Every day matters so focus on the good in your life and devote what time you have to improve yourself and reach your goals.  Small improvements each day will lead to big success later.  Show your gratitude along the way to the people who love you and support you through your endeavors.

Persistence

"Success is all about persistence and doing the right thing for the long term."

~ Bruce Rauner

Develop a commitment to success by building a "no matter what" attitude.  Adversity and failure is part of the process of becoming successful.  Do not fear making a mistake or achieving failure.  Significant achievement usually requires significant adversity along the journey.  Do not let this interfere with what you do and your goals.  Stay disciplined and trust the process.  Keep working, keep grinding, and never submit to failure.

Contentment

"He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have."

~ Socrates

Learn to appreciate what you have in life while seeking guidance and practicing patience for the things you want.  The more concerned we become over the things we cannot control in life will distract us from improving the things we can control.  Acknowledge value in having good health, loving relationships with friends and family, and the opportunity the day has provided you to learn and play. Having contentment will make the poor man rich, while discontent can make a rich man poor.  Discontentment is an enemy of happiness and success.

Confidence

"All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence, and then success is sure."

~ Mark Twain

Have faith with yourself and your abilities.  Resist the urge to doubt yourself and to hold yourself back from taking advantage of the moment.  Train your mind to take chances and to not shy away from the risk of failing.  Have confidence to do what is right, to tolerate discomfort, and to push towards achieving your goals.  The person who worries about facing failure seldom has to face success.  There is nothing stronger than someone who  has confidence and believes in oneself.
